Have you ever noticed that your VCR automatically changes the time on its clock for Daylight Saving Time, and your Mac OS computer doesn't? Set Daylight will automatically change the time on your computer for the beginning and end of Daylight Saving Time. Set Daylight is not an INIT, so it should not cause any conflicts. Set Daylight only takes 16K of RAM.
Set Daylight is shareware. If you like it, send me a dollar. People who pay for this version will not be expected to pay for subsequent versions. Site licenses and World-Wide licenses are available.
Who can run Set Daylight?
Set Daylight should be compatible with any system from System 7.0 and up. Set Daylight will work on all 68K and PPC Mac OS based computer running System 7.0 or greater.
How to install Set Daylight.
If you are running System 7.5 or newer:
Drag the Set Daylight file to the System Folder icon. It will be put into the Extensions folder. Make sure that the correct time and date is set in the Date & Time control panel. Select the correct time zone, and make sure that if you are currently in Daylight Saving Time, the check box is checked*. (If this information is not set, Set Daylight will not run.) Then restart your computer.
If you are running System 7.0 through 7.1.2:
Drag the Set Daylight file to the System Folder icon. It will be put into the Extensions folder. In the Map control panel set your current location. Make sure that the correct time and date is set in the Date & Time control panel. (If this information is not set, Set Daylight will not run.) Then restart your computer.

To Do/Known Problems
• Set Daylight only works for the areas United States that observe Daylight Saving Time. If you are in an area that has different dates for observing Daylight Saving Time, send me an e-mail. If I get enough requests, I will make a version of Set Daylight for your area.

Payment
Single user licenses or Set Daylight is $1 per user. A Site License costs $25 and covers all locations for your organization within a 100 mile radius of your site (160 kilometer). One big advantage of a Site License is that you do not need to keep track of how many people at your site are using the software. A World-Wide License costs $100 and it covers all locations for your organization around the world.
Paying for Set Daylight is fairly simple. Open the Register program that accompanies Set Daylight. Enter your name, your email address, and the number of single user licenses you wish to purchase (or Site or Word-Wide licenses). Save or Copy or Print the data from the Register program and send the data and payment to Kagi. More specifics on the Register program to follow. Kagi handles my payment processing.
If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is shareware@kagi.com and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You can either Copy the data from Register and paste into the body of an email message or you can Save the data to a file and you can attach that file to an email message. There is no need to compress the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax modem, just Print the data to the Kagi fax number.
Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement.
If you are paying with Cash or USD Check you should print the data using the Register application and send it to the address shown on the form, which is:

You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries but at present if you pay via check, it must be a check drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept checks in other currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD checks is around
US $15 per check and that is just not practical If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their payment. Kagi can not invoice your company, you need to act on my behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork on your end.
Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include correct email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.

Set Daylight may be posted to any software repository, BBS forum, or any other form of electronic distribution, including CD's and floppies, but this ReadMe must be included.

* Daylight Saving Time begins for most of the United States at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday of April. Time reverts back to standard time at 2 a.m. on the last Sunday of October.
